cmos settings wrong

HELP !!
Since I unplugged my hard drive, to get to the floppy, my pc wont start up properly -- i get 3 beeps & the following appears on screen
checking nvram
check system health ok
524288kb
wait...
cmos settings wrong
pres f1 to run set up
press f2 to load default values and continue

however... the keyboard isnt working - num caps & scroll buttons just flash so cant do f1 or 2- havei blown m board !?

...a) did you put the HDD cable back the right way round? Ribbon cable has a red line down one side which [usually] sits next to the power plug.

b) Check ALL cables on the mother board. It's dead easy to dislodge one or more without noticing. Been there! Done that!

Make sure everything is tight!

It may be that your system battery is low. Replace that if nothing else works.

WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT -- THE KEYBOARD WAS KN***ERED!! - ONE OF THE PINS IN THE CONNECTOR WAS BENT ! I WAS CONVINCED IT WAS SOMETHING MORE IN VIEW OF THE BEEPS - (AFTER VISITING THE AMIBIOS WEBSITE) - THANKS FOR TAKING TIME TO RESPOND ! YOUR ADVICE OF CHECKING EVERYTHING WAS TIGHT SENT ME BACK TO BASICS !!
