Closing background programs

Hi there
I've got a problem with a game (Championship Manager 99/00) in that it crashes at the same date in the game all the time (13th July 2008 if you're interested).

When I press CTRL+ALT+DEL it tells me that it's not responding. Could this be something to do with the other programs in the list? These are:

Would it be dangerous to close any of these programs temporarily while I play the game and how would I open them again?
Are there any other possible reasons? (I hear there's a patch for the game, which I haven't tried yet.)
I would appreciate some advice.
Thanks alot.

Explorer - the 'shell' that contains your desktop, windows etc

Navapw32 - Norton Antivirus

Rundll32 - allows a dll to run as a program (almost certainly required to let the game run)

Point32 - probably MS Intellipoint mouse driver

Systray - your System tray (clock, network monitor etc)

Rnaapp - the modem / dialup service

It is unlikely that any of these are causing the problem, and I would not recommend disabling any of them, except rnaapp if you are not playing online. Go for the patch as your first step.

if the patch doesn't work you could try one of GANDALF <|:-)>'s: click here
