Clicking Noise when I click on folders, etc.

I've just got a new laptop with XP installed on it. It makes a clicking noise whenever I click on a file or a folder in Windows Explorer (or anything for that matter). My old XP laptop didn't do it so I must have switched it off somehow but it's so long ago that i can't remember how to do it.

Can anyone jog my memory please?

Go into your Control Panel then Sounds and Devices, Click on the sounds tab and change the sound scheme to none. Done and dusted lol.

the sound is for "Start Navigation"...

A HandyAndy5535 has said, Control Panel then "Change the Sound scheme"...

Under the "Sounds" tab, in the "Program Events" section look for "Windows Explorer" then scroll down to "Start Navigation"...

Select it to highlight it, then in the drop down box below select "None" then "OK"

Hope this helps,

Regards,

Simsy
