Chosing a graphics card

I am building myself a new PC based on an MSI KT4AV board with a 2400 Athlon. I do not play games at all, but I am into digital photography and manipulate images using Photoshop elements and Photoshop. I may wish to watch the odd DVD, but that would be occasionally. I currently have a CRT monitor, but hope to upgrade to a flat panel in a year or so. Can anyone recommend a graphic card that would meet my needs without breaking the bank?

Thanks for you help.

How much you got to play with?

Hi krislas. Most of the modern high performance graphics cards are aimed at games playing. It is the fast 3-D rendering required by games that drives the price up to hundreds of pounds. For the sort of applications that you are using you don't need an expensive card. A GForce 2 with 64M memory would probably be adequate. Have a look at this one from DABS for only £25 click here, or this GForce 4 for £35.50 has 128M memory click here

Hi Gongoozler,

Thanks for that. I will go for the cheapest one of the two.
