CHKDKS on Startup

  Dirk Diggler 12:13 27 Dec 2003

I may be worrying about nothing but on booting up Win XP, I got a msg saying it needed to check my drives for consistency and needed to run CHKDSK. It went through all that and said it was deleting file "CA6RGDIZ.gif" Any ideas as to wether this is normal and why it deleted that particular file?

Chkdsk scans the drives and checks for errors like Scandisk did in previous versions of windows. I'm not sure why it has run at startup or why it has deleted a file. Try checking for viruses.
