Check Disk

I have WinXP Home and IE8.I have run Check Disk and finish with a window called C:\WINDOWS\system32\chkdk.exe which states that Windows found errors on the disk but will not fix them because disk checking was run without the \F(fix) parameter. As I don`t understand this message I would be obliged if someone could enlighten me.More to the point what do I do about it?

You should run check disk by typing

chkdsk /f (note the space)

so that it can try to fix the errors it finds

Open My computer and right click on the hard drive in question and select properties. Click on tools and select error checking. Put a little tick in both of the small squares. Click OK and apply. Close the computer down and restart. The errors should be corrected after the check has finished.
