I want to build a pc around an E8200. I don't want to overclock it, and I only want one graphics card.

So what is the cheapest P35 mobo that will run the E8200 straight out of the box?

I don't want to buy a mobo then find it needs a bios update before it will boot.

Hi Keefe

Not sure of your budget and i believe we have spoken of this in the past.I have this feeling you are going to need the bios update as some of the boards are revision 1.1 and need revision 2.0 to run that cpu effectively.
However i have come across this if your interested click here

doing a lot of reading around on the web I have more or less decided on the Gigabyte DS3, but wherever I buy it from must be able to confirm the board is rev 2.1, and with bios F12.

Where do I stand if I get a board I cannot get to post??

Think you have a problem Keefe, ive looked around and cannot find the board with revision 2.1 retailing, looks only availble if the bios is updated.

Though the bios is pretty much fail safe as it has a dual bios.

why not wait till april 20 when there are planned price drops for intel, you could get the excellent q6600 at a low price.
