Changing volume system wide

  Rickyboy1976 11:31 21 Aug 2006

My PC has a number of Applications which change the Volume System wide (not just for their application) such as Total Recorder and Creative Media Source. I frequently have to open all the apps to try and work out which one is making everything really quite.

Is there a tool that will bring everything bak up to 100%

Go to Control Panel - Sounds and Audio Devices and adjust the volume.

If you tick the "Place volume icon..." box an icon appears in the Taskbar and you can click on that to adjust all the volume settings.

To clarify the problem

Media Player voluime set to 100%
Taskbar volume 100%

very quiet..... it transpires that total recorder or media source are at 10% and this is having a system wide effect on volume
