Just rebuilt an old PC with a view to selling it and installed Win XP under the name of A.N.Other. I now wish to keep this PC and re-register it in my name. How can I do this without re-installing Windows?

Change Registered Owner click here

This doesn't change account names.

How to Change Name and Company Information After You Install Win XP

Start/Run/Regedit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion in the left pane.

Then In the right pane, double-click RegisteredOrganization. Under "Value data", type the name that you want, and then click OK.
