changing D drive to C drive

  kevc 10:10 02 Feb 2003

I have recently installed XP on my D drive which is 20G because i was already running M.E> on C drive. Also i formatted D and used the new NTFS system but as far as i know M.E. is FAT32.
1/ Could this cause any problems

2/ Can i change the pins at the back of the hard drives so C becomes D and vise versa.

I think that you will have to set your new drive to primary master 1st on cable and old drive to Primary slave 2nd on cable, and re install XP. I am not 100% sure on this but Im sure someone will be able to help you moor soon.

Have you thought of using drive caddies.
That way both drives would be drive C: so no problems with shortcuts, or file locations.

You also get a secure backup of your data that can be kept in a safe place, offsite if necessary.
