Change System hard drive letter

  Graham. 17:02 24 May 2008

I added a Slave drive and it took the letter 'C', my System drive became 'I'. How on earth can I get it back to 'C'?

I've disconnected the Slave, and done a System Restore, to no avail.

That should be done through the disk management.

If Xp

Head into Control Pannel, Administrative Tools, and find the disk management area and click on the drive you want to change the amendments.

Try powering down the computer and disconnect the drive, leave a few minutes and reconnect...does this help ?

Check the jumpers, have they been changed ?

Tried your link, but Windows wouldn't boot. I'm re-installing XP now.

I now have C - System, D - Slave. Thanks for looking.
