change the order of programs?

does anyone know if the order that programs appear in on the start/programs menu list on the desktop in windows 98 can be changed & if they can how to go about it?

Yes, you can list them alphabetically by right clinging one of them and choosing "Sort by name". Or you can drag them around, if you wish.

You can put them in alpha order by right clicking on one program (doesn't matter which) and ticking "sort by name".

Is that what you want?

oops!!! didn't explain very well; SORRY, what I meant was, I click start, scroll up to programs and that menu list that appears. eg move accessories from top to bottom.

That's what MAJ said, you can drag them around on the menu so you click on accessories and drag it to the bottom of that submenu and drop it there.
