Change of Mobo and the Opteron 144

I'm thinking of changing my current mobo (foxconn nvidia4) to a nice new Asus A8N deluxe sli. However, im just checking how easy this will be in terms of the restart on my current hdd. i mean will it be a case of plug and play? Should i unistall the drivers for my old board first then put it in?

Also will the opteron (if i can find one!) be compatible with this mobo?

To be honest i would reinstall Windows from scratch - too much potential for driver clashes.

Besides if you have an OEM copy of Windows it probably won't like you changing the Motherboard and CPU and you'll have to reactivate with MS again.

Any other opinions anyone?

I'm with PaulB. Not plug & play.
