Change JPEG to TIFF

  TommyRed 15:38 25 Jan 2004

I'm told that editing JPEG's degrades the quality because they are already compressed. I've been advised to save them as TIFF's before I do any editing on them. Would I have to do this to all my photo's or just the ones I'm going to edit? TIA TR

Do you really want that answered? :-)

A clue - why would you want to change the ones you are not going to edit if you are happy with the quality?

Good advice from ewtie. But never edit the original anyway. Always work on a copy. If you then mess it up you still have the original to go back to and make another copy. I use PSP for editing but I always save a copy as a TIFF for editing first. If I make a mistake I delete it and make another TIFF copy.
