Change default email prog

I have a PC using XP and a laptop with Vista so hopefully the answer is the same for each.
I have a web-based email provider. When in a website and I wish to email them from within site it will open the default that is selected within IE(usually Express).
How can I change this to default to a web address where my email provider lives.
There is previous discussion about this but no real answer.

Hi jhm, from within ie have you tried "tools" ; internet options; programs; then select whatever prog you want from the drop down list in e-mail?

Thanks for the help, but none help I'm afraid. The internet provider is an educational one run by SWGFL (South West Grid For Learning). Basically I need a 'hyperlink' into the website to log on when a 'contact here' link is clicked.
Does this make sense?
