Change the Chart area in an Excel 2007 graph.

I would like to change the layout of a graph I have so that a horizontal fill point/or extra horizontal line can be added which shows a level that should not be encroached upon.

If you take the y axis, which starts at 2 and finishes at 9, I want the bottom of the chart area to be coloured red from 2 to 4. (Or a red line along the 4 grid.) How do I do this?

Thanks

Have resolved the problem. Used the Insert and put a Rectangle in the area then formatted it so that the colour was red and some transparemcy to allow the grid lines etc. still to be shown.

There are other ways of doing this. See click here and andypope.info

Thanks very much for that. I will have a look at both your links and see what I can come up with. The method I used meant that you could not get a read out from the graph by hovering. It looks as though the Peltiertech site has various ways of maintaining the integrity of the graph and having the ability to have coloured bands or lines.

Just what I was looking for.
