Chainging ISP ?

I am changing ISP´s and they have sent me a new modem & disk.
I don´t want to use the modem but do I have to load the disk ?

A lot depends on your ISP but, basically, no you don't have to use their disk as long as you are happy to set up your connection unaided.

When I switched ISPs earlier this month it was very straightforward. All I had to do was switch off my modem/router for a couple of minutes, re-boot it and click on my browser shortcut. The internet launched itself with my new ISP. There was no need to alter the settings on my modem/router - that happened automatically.

But how do I tell what ISP I Am on?

Err, it'll be the one you're moving to and paying your subscription to, won't it?

like pine man said if you are happy setting up things for yourself
then no you dont
if your not happy then you should use it

and not a router

I was trying to find out if I had been switched yet.
I Did.
