Certain windows no longer open automatically

Apologies for the heading but it is difficult to explain in a few words!

I am running XP SP2 and have recently upgraded to NIS 2006. Everything appears to be ok but I have noticed that since installing the new version of NIS a window no longer opens automatically when I insert my USB memory stick. I have to access the contents through Windows Explorer. A similar thing now happens with my Epson Photo 895 printer when I plug a smart media card into it from my camera. It used to open a small window asking what I wanted Windows to do with it and now no longer does.

I assumed it was something to do with pop up blocking in NIS but it makes no difference if I turn it off.

It’s not the end of the world but does anybody have any ideas about restoring full windows functionality?
