Is there any way to reuse a cdrw disc after its been write protected? Have tried format but no good

All cd-rw discs should be re-useable. That's why they're 'rw', meaning re-writable. Only cd-r discs cannot be reused.

If you are having trouble reformatting the disc, it could be the software you are using.

Adaptec software can format CD-RW disks in different ways, audio, direct cd, etc., to make it into a blank disk again, use CD-RW eraser, then you can reformat it as audio, data, or direct cd.

If you use Easy CD creator and you have formatted the CDRW you should be able to just drag and drop in explorer if you use the Create CD then you just open and CD Creator window and just drag and drop then burn. But I think you are using XP's own program and it's a cut down version burner

1 What is your o/s? If its xp then you can just write onto it

2 What burning software do you use? If it is nero you can get the latest incd package that erases cd-rw in XP click here
