If a new pc spec has one of each of:Multi format dual layer DVD writer (16x)/CD-RW (40x)driveand16x DVD-ROM driveWhy would I need both? Would I only want the second one if I watch DVD's?Thanks in advancejailbird
You don't need both unless you think that you might want to make copies of CD's and DVD's.
Thanks ....all news to me as I only have a cd-rom thingy at present!jailbird
Some people seem to think it is better to have a DVD ROM for playing DVDs and a writer just for writing. The writer actually has two sets of llasers oe for reading the other for witing DVDs plus anoth er set for reading and writing CDs
