CD/DVD+ or CD/DVD- discs

I have two cd/dvd drives, _NEC DVD_RW ND-2500A, and Mitsumi DM-2000TE.
Can anyone tell me the correct discs, either cd or dvd plus or minus, please?

I have used both DVD+ and DVD- discs with there being no noticeable difference in the result.

I think cd discs are more or less universal?

As realist has said, CD's are universal. You only have to decide whether you want to use writable or rewritable (the former tend to be more reliable than the latter).

You can almost certainly use DVD+ and/or DVD- but be sure to check what format(s) your intended DVD player can handle. Some older players can't handle some formats.

As said stick with -r though most decent burners will burn + r's that should play on players that dont play +r 's anyway

Thank you for your response.

So, its really dependant on the plyer that the disc will be used with?

Yes though a lot of players are Multi format -R
is probably the safest bet

But as hardware is forever changing it matters not which you use.
The general perception though is to avoid using RW's as these can/do have computability issues if used on a machine that did not create them in the first place

Thank you all very much for the info.

I'll consider this thread resolved.
