my CDRW drive is 16x12x40x. Have backed up my data on a CD-RW (memorex 1x2x4x part no.829125) which is now full. Have bought 3 new discs - 1. Traxdata 10x. 2.Infiniti 4x. 3. Verbatin 2x4x.....none of them are recognised by my drive, .ie. when I put them in the drive doesn't see them. I can't find anywhere which sells that particular memorex including the originaal supplier. where can I get one, or is there anything I can do to get my drive to recognize other discs?

Post what make it is and your OS to make it easier to answer your query. Also what software do you use ie. Nero and have you updated it recently? TR

its a matter of trial and error to find a decent disc.i would recomend you do not use cdrw for backup as they can become unstable and lose info.use cdr there much better i know you cant re use them but at 20 -30p each its not that exspensive.if you have 2 hard drive backup to partitions on both of them the likelyhood of both going bang at the same time is minimal and its also cost efficient.darren

IDE/ATAPI Interface. Cyberdrive technology.

Are the disks you bought CDRW's and did you format them.

Office world used to sell them but I don't know if they still do.

duuur!! didn't know needed formatting. My great grandson never mentioned this when he installed the drive. Just formatted one disc, it now works fine.
