Have a Philips CDR/W drive that is stuck on my deskptopIt wont open and green light (disc in) is flashing although Im sure I never inserted a cd in the driveTried opening using other means ie trying to access drive through Control Panel but no joyAny suggestions, ie is there a manual eject button to release the drive trayThanks
Stick a straightened paperclip into the little hole on the front of the CD player, it's usually located just below the drawer. That will open the drawer for you.
But don't use a paper clip or similar to open the drawer with your system switched on - for obvious reasons...:-)It could just be that your drive has a disk which has not been properly ejected stuck inside, but opening using the supplied wire tool or paper clip should reveal any problems.
of course I should have said......... turn off the PC first. :o
