CD Player No Sound

  Klodshans 19:28 17 Nov 2004

I've just reformatted my hard disk on TIME 400MZ Ultima PC and reinstalled Windows 98 and drivers. I've got sound on the system etc., but no sound when I play a music CD in the CD-ROM/DVD drive. I've checked that the drivers are OK and according to Win98 they are. Any ideas???

Cable connection OK and yes i've got the CD player, which launches when I put a music CD in the drive and behaves exactly as though everything is fine. I've come to the conclusion that the driver used is not the right one. I've installed the right one but unfortunately I get "Fatal Error" messages (caused by file Aticwd32) every time I boot up, so I've had to uninstall it again.
