cds recorded on my teac cd recoder

recorded CDs need to be finalised before they can be played on another player.

Do the CDs recorded in the Teac also play back in the Teac and other drives? I had a problem with a burner where the laser burnt out and it didn't turn on the laser during recording anymore - which meant the disc stayed blank. Also you could try another brand of disc. If the Teac actually writes to the disc, can you clearly tell the difference between where the recorded area is and where the blank area is or is it very faint? If it's quite faint this is another sign of the laser wearing out. If it's too faint then some drives (such as your Philips) won't pick it up.

the discs play in my teac and other computer drives and in the car you can see the non/recordedpart of the drive i have used maxell and memorex blanks and neither work
