CD drive not recognised - help

  pubperv 14:10 08 Jan 2006

I wondered if anyone could help with problem I'm having with my Fujitsu M1425 laptop.

Something appears to have corrupted my computer so that when i turn it on if i press the letter 'a' i get a nonsense string of characters and letters appearing on screen (and no 'a'!). I think the string is: #;k=ljf#;k=ljf#;k=ljf. In addition, the internal CD drive is suddenly not being recognised by the laptop anymore.

Any idea what is happening and how I can rectify it? The laptop is only 11 months old.

Thanks for reading
