C.D. Drive Incorrect function

when working in word when I want to save my work to
a C.D. when I go to the save as function highlight the disc drive a message appears stating c.d.drive incorrect function when I click o.k. it then states you do not have access to the folder I {my disc drive} see your administrater for access to this folder has anyone any ideas I would be gratfull I can save my work to the disc in other ways but not by this route.

You need to save to the hard disk first of all; then burn to CD.

Unless I'm missing something here what you are trying to do cannot be done. You have to either burn to a CDR or using packet writing software write to a CDRW - you don't state you are doing either. If you are trying to save to a CDr using a save as command it can't be done. Please clarify exactly what you are trying to do.
