Ccleaner and registry

  exdragon 08:15 06 May 2009

I'm running this for the first time. so could someone let me know if it's ok to select all the options in the Registry Integrity tab? If not, I haven't a clue which ones to pick.

Been running CC for yrs & I have all mine ticked, and no probs.

Thanks, Marko797, do you select everything in the Windows and Applications tabs too?

All Applications are ticked - looks like the default setting for CC anyway. On Windows, there is a default setting which doesn't include them all. Just leave it all at default is my recommendation.

Hmm, Windows just has everything ticked in System, but nothing else, while Applications just has Cache, History and Sun JAva selected, so I'm not sure what default is!

OK, will have to do this long hand, but here are my settings on Windows. To date no problems with CC at all, so you should be OK to follow these:

1. Internet Explorer - all ticked, except Auto Complete Form History.
2. Windows Explorer - all ticked
3. System - all ticked except last 2 (Start Menu Shortcuts, & Desktop Shortcuts
4. Advanced - only 2 which ARE ticked - Old Prefetch data, & Custom Files & Folders

On Applications, everything is ticked.

I guess if this is bothering you so much, u could go to the CC forum/web site.

maybe should add, that I'm on XP Pro SP3, and use IE8. CC version is v2.19.900. If you're on Vista, I have no idea if the settings should be/would be different, but suspect not.

Yup, leave them all selected. No problem as you will backup anyway :-)

Thank you both, that's great. I've done as suggested, rebooted and here I am again, so no problem so far!
