CCleaner question

I have read lots of posts about Ccleaner but am not sure if they have answered my question.

I just ran CCleaner (only clicked 'Analyze') and it told me it had found approx 650MB to be removed. Some of these files were over 100MB.

One example was this one:

CCF9.TMP which was 383MB and was located in
C:\Documents and Settings\Myname\Local Settings\Temp

Other .TMP files were also over 100MB.

NOW....when I close CCleaner and click 'analyze' again it only comes up with 17.7MB to be removed. Please note: I HAD NOT actually clicked 'Run Cleaner' the previous time.

I did do a Find on .tmp files and perhaps this changed the date on them?

That's possible.......if you look in the Options>Advanced tab of ccleaner you will find that by default it only removes temporary files older than 48 hours.

Remove the tick from the box and see how much it finds for removal this time.

Thanks Gudgulf.....that made sense. Reason I didn't reply until now was I was experimenting with it since your reply. I'm not sure how people cope without CCleaner (or similar program). Surely they must fill up their HD quite quickly.
