Cautionary tale - read the instructions!

  Liteman 09:24 29 Oct 2009

I run Word 2003 and recently followed a previous thread's instructions to change default language from US English to Proper English (UK). Unfortunately I didn't read the instructions carefully enough and managed to add a few "test" words at the beginning of the template, which now appear at the top of every new document I try to start. I've tried to find to alter it but it seems to be hidden. The path given if I do a search is C:\documents and settings\pete\application data\microsoft\templates , however if I navigate to documents and settings\pete there is no application data. Is this a hidden folder or such like, if so how do I make it visible.
Can anyone help please?

It is a 'hidden' folder. To see it, do the following:

Click Start
Open My Computer
Navigate to folder: Documents and Settings\pete'
Select the 'Tools' menu and click 'Folder Options'
Select the View tab
Advanced Settings: Hidden files and folders, select 'Show hidden files and folders'
Click Apply
Click OK

I suggest that you hide them again once you have sorted this out.

This was one set of instructions I read/followed properly - worked a treat, thanks

How come you didn't confess to me, then?

(It's ok, I'm not being rude, I'm his other half)
