I have recently moved to a fairly remote part of Spain where there are no phone lines. I have invested in a notebook and a Vodafone data card for Internet access. The system works great, now I have contact with the world. I would like to use the same system with desktop pc but unfortunately the desktop pc doesn't have a CardBus slot as used on the notebook for the data card. I would be grateful to find out if this type of connection can be applied to the desktop pc by a PCI slot card. I am not sure that I have the correct name for the CardBus slot, this is was the note book manufacturer calls it in their literature. If such a PCI card is available what is it called and is such easily available. many thanks TOMSPAIN
Is it the PCMCIA slot that you mean - the one with the width / lenght dimensionso of a credit card but about 4 mm deep? If so, you can get a PCMCIA adaptor for a PC as well as a laptop. That might help.
