Card reader won't read a 2gb micro sd card

  Chris Webster 23:47 24 Apr 2007

A friend has bought a SanDisk 2gb micro sd card but his card reader won't recognise it. I've tried it in my card reader on my laptop and mine won't recognise it either. Can anyone throw any light on this please?

(The card works in his mobile phone though)

Thanks, Chris.

Does anything happen when you plug it in? 2GB is quite a big size and some readers have a size limit. Put the card in, go to My Computer, click on your card reader and see if any messages come up.

It just says 'please insert card into drive'

As rodriguez states, memory cards are/can be too big to be handled by some memory card reader/writers; the limit may be 512MB or 1GB depending on the model.
