Cant use tv card

my pc is second hand, and all the programs were installed at the shop where it was bought and i dont have a backup disk as the previous owner had lost it. a while ago it crashed big time! i have managed to get it working again and re-install some of the drivers via online sources.
the problem is, i have a pci tv card installed and, during the virus attack and subsequent fixing of the software, i have lost the program that controlled the tv card. How do i get to use the tv card again? is it a simple case of getting hold of another tv viewing program, or are they program/card specific?

I would go to the makers site and look for a free download of the software.

You will need the drivers (BDA or WDM as appropriate) as well as the software.

As Technotiger states, you will need to know the make and model of your TV card in order to download the correct drivers and software from the manufacturer's website (there should also be a manual if required).

There are third party software offerings (I use ShowShifter, for instance, with my Twinhan Freeview TV card and its BDA drivers); sadly, however, ShowShifter is no longer available.

That's a shame for it's vastly superior to the TwinHan offering.
