Can't set harddrive letter

  johnedelen 21:49 01 Dec 2007

I'm trying to copy the contents of an old harddrive onto my new computer. Typically I'd set the old drive as a slave and it'll appear in My computer and I'll do my business. However, with my new computer the old harddrive is set as a slave, it is listed under disk management as a active healthy partition, but it won't let me change the drive letter. Right now it is simply a "local drive" and doesn't show up in My computer. It will only allow me to delete partition when I right click on it under disk management. Any ideas?

It had the Gateway Adaptec Goback on it. I believe that is an earlier version of the Norton. Can I reboot with the old HDD and uninstall this program to resolve the problem, or am I stuck?
