Can't see more than 130Gb of 200Gb hard drive

I have Windows XP and put a 200Gb hard drive in my PC. It could not see all of it, but I was told that with service pack 2 I would be able to see all of it. What do I have to do, as I now have service pack 2 installed, but still only have 130Gb drive

I'm no expert, but I think it might be a BIOS setting rather than Windows. On my computer you click "del" at the start of bootup to enter the BIOS. But don't go tinkering around in there if you don't know what you're doing ... it's dangerous!

Yes more than likely an old bios.

What motherboard do you have?

I take it you've seen your disk in disk managment?

right click "My Computer" select Manage

Next click on Disc Management

Now right click on drive and select format

I can see that the PC shows a 200Gb hard drive on the black sreen when booting up, but only sees 130 Gb once in the Windows environment.
