Can't see audio files on CD?

Hi, I'm using db poweramp - music converter, audio CD input, to convert from cd audio to mp3. I have used it recently - couple of weeks ago - with no problems. However, now when I put an audio CD in the drive there are no files listed in the programs dialogue box and it says "insert audio cd". I've also tried cdex and had similar problem therefore I guess something must have changed with my system but I can't figure out what. O/S = win xp home. Any ideas?

PS - cds play okay with media player.

Hello again, as no one has been able to help yet I'm bringing this back to the top in the hope that maybe someone who has been at work today can help.
Thanks in anticipation.

Friendly tip for the future:

Not a good idea to post the same question again in a new thread if you don't get a result the first time - better to refresh the original thread to bring it to the 1st page - that way folk can see what has already been suggested and proved not effective.

Regards
