Can't open Powerpoint 2010

Hi, Can anyone help.
I'm running Win 7 Ultimate and Office 2010 Pro. Word, Excel work OK but Powerpoint refuses to open. This is since a Windows update last week but System restore refuses to work.
I need to prepare some presentations.

Try running the repair utility from control panel. Run a virus scan, anti-malware scan. Alternatively uninstall and re-install PowerPoint. You have a corruption somewhere if your system restore doesn't work hence virus scans, etc.

Tried the repair facility. Have run virus scan and malware scan. All seems OK. Uninstalled Office 2010, cleaned registry. Tried to reinstall Office 2010. Get an error message. Set up needs MSXML version Have seen various websites where I need to pay to download this. Can't find it on the Microsoft website. Any ideas?

I think that it is likely that you have a problem with Windows itself. Was the windows update to do with MSXML?
Try running scannow see click here

Having reinstalled Windows, all is now OK. Thanks for your help.
