dads computer recently had problems decidedto re-install windows as partitions needed sorting out.sorted that with the xp disk but when i try to load windows it says it needs to copy some startup files to the second disk and that disk does not have a partition compatible with windows and i need to create one.however there is three partitions on that disk in raw format created by windows itself which it sees but doesnt think are compatible. any advice greatly appreciated.thanks darren
yes vog thats the way i normally do it did it twice last week with no problems but for some reason xp pro says the partitions are not compatable and tells me to delete one and re create it which i did but then still tells me its not compatable even though its listed as a raw partition with a letter assignned to it. marsh warden i cant destroy all the partitions some have information on that is needed. i may have to put the drive in mine then start again. darren
