Hi all,

My network card (Netgear WG511) seemed to stop working, so I got a replacement.
I set it uo last night it worked, and I was on line wireless, however it was late. so today I unplugged everything and set it back up where I needed it and it now does not connect

My modem shows a signal, my router seems to be doing all the right things, the lights on the network card come on, and the lappy tells me this is installed and I get a balloon telling me that I have a connection and the signal strenghth is exellant, however cannot get on line.

Plug the modem directly to Lapppy and on line no probs.

I have uninstalled network card, and reinstalled it, however notw the lights on the network card are not on?
) are working OK, I just think I am doing something wrong in the set up.

Your help is really appriciated.

Paul
I am convinced all the componants (Modem, Router, and network card

I have tried all combinations of turning each off and on, to no avail.

If you haven't done so you could try "Wireless Zero Configuration."
Assuming you are running Windows.
1 Click start
2 Run
3 Type services.msc
4 Double click Wireless Zero Configuration
5 Make sure Auto is selected
6 Click Start
7 Click stop and then start
8 Click Apply/OK.
9 Check connection
I would suggest that you uninstall any software that came with the device and let Windows find the drivers. It worked for me so it may be worth a try. Good Luck

As you are wireless, the Router settings may have become corrupt.

PS have you tried turning the Router off for 1 minute then restart it?
