Cant Get Wireless Connection

  Legslip 20:04 14 Apr 2009

Just changed over to Sky (wireless) and all my PC' s connect except my desktop. I am using a Netgear USB 2 adaptor that works fine in my laptops but will not connect on the desktop. It sees the Sky router but after inputing the code, stll will not connect. I think that the problem may lie in that the Network Connections window shows that the wireless connction is firewalled. Could this be the problem and what is the answer?

What Firewall are you using,if XP Firewall?,go into the Security Settings,Firewall then Exceptions Tabs, tick the wireless adapter if listed

Found the problem. This was a Virgin Bdbnd connection using a Netgear wireless router and all worked OK. pAL HAS GONE OVER TO sKY AND USED THE WIRELESS ROUTER SUPPLIED BUT IT WOULD SEEM TO HAVE A WEAKER SIGNAL THAN THE nETGEAR so cannot use the upstairs dektop. Can I use the Netgear router on the Sky Bdbnd connection? (sorry about the CAPS!)
