P4S800-MX SE running Win XP; 80 GB hard drive 713 MB RAM
PC has been running fine. AV up to date; regular scans with Malwarebyte. Disk regularly checked with Tune Up Utilities 2009.
Turned off PC for tea - later turned it back on and cannot get past POST. DEL & TAB do nothing. Cannot run EASUS Backup to restore as I cannot get PC to boot from disc, so guess I cannot reinstall either.
Many thanks for the help. I guess I had already thought of this, but for a different reason - I connected up my external USB hard drive in case the Backup program was looking for the drive to boot from. Turned PC on [forgetting to put CD into tray - D'Oh!] and a screen popped up telling me that my overclocking had failed [!]. Pressed F2 to continue and booted up OK, actually typing on it now.
I wasn't overclocking the PB [no need to, does all I want]. How strange!!!
