can't get outlook express to find the host

Just finished (as I thought)sorting out some problems on a friend's computer (OS is XP). His ISP is tiscali and he used to access OE via tiscali somehow. But he wanted a simpler method so i've put a shortcut to OE on the desktop; and one to IE as well. Both are set to connect to Tiscali. The IE shortcut connects without problems - it dials up fine; but OE throws up this message every time:"The host pop.tiscali.co.uk coud not be found. Pleae verify that you have entered the server name correctly, Account::pop.tiscali.co.uk, server:pop.tiscali.co.uk, protocol: POP3, Port:110 , Secure (SSL):No, Socket error: 11004, Error number :0x800CCC0D
I've checked and rechecked and compared all the settings with those on my own system but I can't solve it.

Have you had a look at the Tiscali site?

Your symptoms are described exactly click here

thanks Old Shep. I looked there, and it suggested contacting the ISP. It turned out to be something quite simple - an entry in the settings that I solved by working through tiscali's own help site for email problems.
