I have an new laptop and I can not get it to accept my password to access the internet. I already have another laptop which is windows xp and this is connected fine. The new laptop finds the router but will not let me accept my password and allow me to connect to the internet. I have a speedtouch 580 router. Is this because I can not use a xp and a vista computer for the speedtouch 580? Please help as this is a christmas present!!

I am assuming that your new laptop is Vista. Have you looked at Control Panel>Internet Options>Connections>Set up. Please excuse me if you have been through all that.

Hi steve do you mean the password for the router?

password= security code for the router.

if that is what you mean and you do not know it then maybe you could reset the router and set a up some fresh security using wep or wpa in the routers wireless security!
