cant find drives

hi when i try to find my drives the pc keeps trying to find them with no success can you help o/s win xp home thanks jc

You may need a new Ribbon cable or check the plugs are full on the drives and motherboard

so it boots up OK? that means that it is detecting

From your email to me^^^^^
it must be detecting at least the C: drive, or else you couldn't get to my computer.
have you tried playing audio CD's in the CD drive to see if it is actually working?? or booting from a floppy disk to check that your floppy drive is actually working??
try that for a start, and let us know what happens
