Can't Enter Windows Password

  Rob Gibson 11:59 08 Oct 2009

A neighbour has a problem logging in to Windows (Vista).

PC boots to Windows log-in screen.
Cursor in password box is flashing, but nothing appears when typing.

I'm told that he can get in by clicking and then canceling "Ease of Access". The password can then be entered and he can log in, but not every time.

Thanks in hope!

Start the system and when it gets to Log on screen
press CTRL+ALT+Delete Keys twice.
It should show a Classic Log in box,
Now type Administrator into the User Name box and leave Password blank. Now Press Enter and you should be able to log into Windows.
You can then reset the password in Control Panel/ user Account
