hi i am trying to install xp, the space on the hard drive is shown as unpartitioned, it wont let me create a new one, any advice please
does it give you a size for the unpartioned it might be too small for xp which seems to need 2.5 gigabytes to install
while using f disk, msg comes up can not access drive 1, i think this probley has a bearing on the problem
If you are trying to put a fresh installation of XP on to the harddrive, there is no need to use fdisk.Boot from cdrom with your XP disk in, when you get to image 3 @ click here you can create your partition. You can create the other partitions when windows has been installed. The article refers to win2000, but the XP installation is the same.
