I have a desktop which connects fine also. I can connect to the internet with no trouble using an ethernet cable, but just not wireless, what am i doing wrong? I have checked that the wireless button is enabled on the laptop if that helps. Please help.

Have you initially connected wired so it finds your connection?

Right click the networking boxes in the system tray and select connect to.

Does your router show up?

Is your router set up to broadcast it's SSID?

Hi cream thank you, and yes to both your questions..

So what happens when you click on your connection?

  babylamb40 21:31 28 May 2009

It runs the normal green scroll bar, then tells me it is taking longer than usual, then it says connection unsuccessful and I click on diagnose, and it says that my router is preventing internet connection, but how can that be when i have two xboxes running, plus my laptop is running fine with no connection problems at all...thank you for your comments anything is helpful at the moment.. :(

router and reconnect.

Reboot the computer and see if they will sync.

Otherwise check your settings in the router to see it will allow more connections and also drop the routers firewall just to connect.
