I can still collect email from an old address but cannot send messages. I received a message addressed to this address which asked for a receipt. I absentmindedly pressed yes to send a receipt and now cannot stop attempts to send it. The result is constant send failures. Nothing apperas in the outbox or sent messages. How do I cancel the attempts to send the receipt ---OR is it likely I have a virus--I do have virus protection/firewall etc. RON
Your outgoing mail [SMTP] setting on the old Tiscali account will almost certainly be set to "SMTP.tiscali.co.uk ". This isn't going to work unless you connect via Tiscali. Have a look at the settings in your BTInternet account, then change the Tiscali one to match it. Leave the Incoming mail [POP3} settings alone.
