Canon printer conundrum

  Blubottle 17:24 25 Jan 2008

I have just bought a Canon MP460 multipurpose printer scanner, this replaces my old Canon i250 printer. No problem there I just unplugged the two connecting leads, one power , one usb replaced the old with the new device removed all old software, drivers ect loaded all new software, fired it up & all works nicely. BUT when I switch off the MP460 I get presented with the "unsafe removal of device" message, but there is no listing for for the MP 460 no real problem all I have to do is click the cancel tab and it's gone. All I want to know is why does this message box appear it never used to with the old Canon printer. Canon tech don't seem to have an answer. can anyone help.

Could it have gone in the the wrong USB directory?.
Also if this model has card slot- that will register as removable drive, even if the printer is in the correct USB slot.

Another thread from this forum - I don't know if it was satisfactorily resolved, but it might give you a clue
