I am interested in buying the Canon PIXMA iP4200 printer but are unable to find any compatible cartridges for this model. Has anyone found cartridges on the web for this model or do any other available cartridges from another Canon model fit.

Hi,

I have just purchased the next one up, IP5200. Currently you can't get compatable cartridges. The stationery's "Choice" will have them by Jan 06. The ones you have with the printer should last me until then. Hope this helps

Boy Zone, thanks for that.

I have gone to click here for mine at great prices, good luck.

I clicked on anskyber's link and was surprised that postage cost more thank the ink. ie one cartridge with vat and postage over £20!!!. Wow

I actually purchased one of these after failing to get an ip2000 model and am hoping I shall not regret it. Please someone manufacture a compatible and one that overcomes the chip problem which I only discovered after buying.

Assuming you still can't get any compatible cartridges for this printer (and I haven't found any), it is presumably impossible to refill the old cartridge because of the inbuilt chip?

Goodness yes that second link was very expensive, sorry about that. My original link (the supplier I normally use) is much cheaper but still not as cheap as my cartridges for my ip5000, the cost of new kit I suppose. click here
